サントリーウイスキーの歴史(Suntory Whisky History)を年表で

サントリーのウイスキーは、1923年の山崎蒸溜所の建設着手から始まりました。

Suntory whisky began in 1923, when construction of the Yamazaki Distillery started.

節目ごとの出来事を、3つの時期に分けて整理します。

We go through the milestones in three periods.

はじまりから戦前までFrom the beginning to before the war

年 Year	できごと Event
1899年 1899	鳥井信治郎が、大阪で鳥井商店を開業 Shinjiro Torii opens Torii Shoten in Osaka.
1907年 1907	「赤玉ポートワイン」を発売。ここで得た利益が、山崎蒸溜所設立の元手になった “Akadama Port Wine” goes on sale. The profits from it became the capital for founding the Yamazaki Distillery.
1923年 1923	日本初のモルトウイスキー蒸溜所・山崎蒸溜所の建設に着手 Construction begins on the Yamazaki Distillery, Japan’s first malt whisky distillery.
1924年 1924	山崎蒸溜所が竣工 The Yamazaki Distillery is completed.
1929年 1929	日本初の本格ウイスキー「白札」を発売。当初は「こげくさい」と評された “Shirofuda,” Japan’s first genuine whisky, goes on sale. At first it was said to taste burnt.
1937年 1937	「角瓶」を発売。日本人の味覚に合うウイスキーを目指して生まれた “Kakubin” goes on sale. It was created with the aim of making a whisky to suit Japanese tastes.

1946年 1946	「トリスウイスキー」を発売 “Torys Whisky” goes on sale.
1950年 1950	「サントリーウイスキーオールド」を発売。トリスバーも誕生 “Suntory Whisky Old” goes on sale. Torys bars also appear.
1972年 1972	知多蒸溜所(グレーン蒸溜所)が着工 Construction begins on the Chita Distillery (a grain distillery).
1973年 1973	白州蒸溜所が竣工。標高700mに位置する The Hakushu Distillery is completed. It stands at an altitude of 700 m.
1984年 1984	「サントリーピュアモルトウイスキー山崎」を発売 “Suntory Pure Malt Whisky Yamazaki” goes on sale.
1989年 1989	最高峰ブランド「響」を発売 The top-end brand “Hibiki” goes on sale.
1994年 1994	「サントリーピュアモルトウイスキー白州」を発売 “Suntory Pure Malt Whisky Hakushu” goes on sale.

2003年 2003	「山崎12年」が、ISCで日本初の金賞 “Yamazaki 12 Years” wins Japan’s first gold medal at the ISC.
2004年 2004	「響30年」が、ISCで日本初のトロフィー(最高賞) “Hibiki 30 Years” wins Japan’s first trophy (top prize) at the ISC.
2008年 2008	「角ハイボール」のマーケティング活動を開始 Marketing activities for the “Kaku Highball” begin.
2009年 2009	「サントリー角ハイボール缶」を発売 “Suntory Kaku Highball Can” goes on sale.
2014年 2014	ビームサントリー社(現サントリーグローバルスピリッツ社)を設立。世界5大ウイスキーを手がける会社になった Beam Suntory (now Suntory Global Spirits) is established, making it a company that handles all of the Big 5 whiskies.
2015年 2015	「サントリーシングルグレーンウイスキー知多」を発売 “Suntory Single Grain Whisky Chita” goes on sale.
